Italian Chili!

A tasty filling chili recipe, one of my favourites! But this makes ALOT of food, so bring some friends or cook together with them and share the bill for the ingredients!

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound bulk hot Italian sausage
  • 1/2 pound whole pepperoni stick, cubed
  • 2 cups chopped onion
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 29 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 14 ounce can petite-diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 15 ounce cans cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 3.8 ounce can sliced ripe olives, drained
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Heat olive oil in Dutch oven or large pot over medium-high heat. Crumble Italian sausage into pot and cook until browned, breaking up meat. Stir in the pepperoni, onion, and garlic and cook for 5 minutes stirring frequently. Stir in chili powder, Italian seasoning, sugar, and red pepper flakes. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat slightly and cook uncovered for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in beans and olives and heat until hot. Spoon chili into bowls and sprinkle each with Parmesan cheese.

Yummy!

  7. where'd you buy all those condiments? I need them for cheap and a small tube of gaarlic salt for example would run me at 3 dollars and i cant really afford that..
(i know i can start my own supply of crushed red pepper from all the pizza my dorm room orders over the month) but all those other condiments?!
How much parmesan cheese do you buy? how long does it last on the fridge?
